This specimen is difficult to locate in any of the numerous villages from around Hamadan.
Everything suggests that the weavers had little experience. Was the centre motif applied earlier than the old-pink background ?
Anyway, the undulations of the weft threads at the level of the central design deviate unexpectedly up or down instead of following the usual horizontal line.
The text is no longer decipherable, but presumably it is the name of the knotter.
